One of our favorite things to do is meet with teachers as they’re getting started with our programs. We have a whole post dedicated to merging your LearnEd Notebooks with the concept of interactive notebooking. And many of our teachers love that.
But if you prefer the traditional 3-ring binder, here’s a great option for you.
And here’s the step-by-step process:
- Choose your platform. This 3-ring binder is a great option because many of your students have access to them. They also allow students to add additional activities along with each notebook. Doing some extra practice with vocabulary? File it in the binder. Completed an experiment today? Document it!
- Setup your notebook. This step often inserts flowcharts, diagrams, lab activity reports, projects, or reflective writing. Decide if your students should keep the additional papers in front of or behind each notebook.

- Incorporate games: spark student interest and inspire friendly competition with vocabulary races, review activities, and flashcard matching.
- Push the limits: help students conduct research, bust misconceptions, think creatively, investigate breakthroughs, discover STEM careers, and solve real-life problems.
- Differentiate lessons: appeal to a variety of learning styles with individualized instruction through checks for understanding, focused review, highlighting key ideas, and engaging, exploring, and evaluating.
