Hi friends! 2017 is just flying by, right? January is a month that some people dread but for us at LearnEd, we’re doing big things. We’re always traveling to conferences sharing our curriculum with teachers and then we’re also brainstorming ways to make things better. 60-Second Science is one of our favorites so we hope you love it as much as we do. Dive into science with your students and have fun doing it!
The next time you walk outside, take a look around. From photosynthesis to the water cycle, you won’t be able to avoid the science that is going on right before your eyes. Often overlooked, however, is the science that is occurring just below your feet! Soil, rocks, and miles and miles of Earth’s layers allow our planet to function while providing scientists with vital information about geologic history.
Every rock tells a story of its own formation while some can even provide valuable details about life on Earth. It’s important for us to understand what the planet has to teach us, to study different rock types and continue to search for more information about geologic processes and our impact on them. So encourage your students to appreciate the amazing stories that rocks can tell and allow them to think outside the box during your next geology lesson!
